Education Grants
The 2009 Teacher Grants were awarded recently. This year there were 28 grants awarded for a total of $10,268. Bank President Mike Stahl reported that this is the 16th year that the State Bank of Speer has funded the program for the area school districts.
Teachers within the bank's service area are encouraged each year to apply for the funds, which can be used to support additional programs in the classrooms. Applicants are judged by a panel of retired teachers who determine grant recipients.
The State Bank of Speer has awarded a total of $109,258 in teacher grants since this program was started in 1995.
Recipients this year were selected from teachers in the Stark County, Midland, Bradford, Dunlap, and Princeville school districts.
The grants were awarded at a reception held at the State Bank of Speer Community Center in Wyoming. |
